Join our training camp in the new year in Lesotho! After a successful start to the year in 2019, we are planning another new year’s camp in Lesotho to start off 2020!

Do you want to train on spectacular roads and experience some phenomenal climbing, then join us for a few days in the mountain kingdom at the Afriski Resort for a road bike training camp.


Dates  2-5 January 2020

Accommodation at Afriski

Three nights sleeping at altitude with rides that start each day at Afriski, and range from a 2 hour ride on the first day, followed by 2 big days of 4 hours or more covering some of the best rideable climbs on the high altitude road.


Day 1 - 55km Afriski - Tlaeeng & return (880m altitude gain)

Day 2 - 110 km Afriski - A1 Climb to the sky (Experience the 14km Climb ave 6% 2200m - 3100m Altitude) 2300m Altitude gain for the day

Day 3 - 125km Afriski - Tlaeeng Pass - Oxbow - Mahlaseala pass (10 km Climb ave 7% 2400m - 3200m ) Total 2800m altitude gain for the day

Day 4 - departure day - Tlaeeng & return, or Oxbow & return for the more adventurous.

Routes can be adjusted to suit the strength of various levels of athletes.



The rides are out and back, so you can shorten the days depending on ability, or add a bit with Mahlasela repeats near Afriski.

This training camp setting in January 2019 has proven to be very beneficial for the group that embarked on the camp. Mountain biking is also a possibility with many trails around Afriski, and this lends itself to an Epic training camp block as well.




Camp price (Including meals): R4500 per person.

Camp price  - Self Catering: R3000 per person

Lodge Accommodation with all meals at the Sky Restaurant: (Single supplement R5000) .

Various transport options are available, so please inquire or self drive in your own vehicle.

Valid passports required and the routes planned are possible with regular road bike gearing. (compact chainrings and 11-28t minimum is recommended)

There are also a range of other activities for kids and non riders to do at Afriski in summer, and spending time at the altitude setting is always relaxing and fun, so if you want, bring the family and make a holiday out of your training block!
