Follow the plans of 2 time winner of the Cycle Challenge, Nic White of White Inc. Coaching to acheive your best in 12 week's time!

12 weeks to Telkom 94.7 Cycle Challenge

With spring on the horizon it signals the imminent start of the road racing season in SA, and this normally means that for many an avid cyclist, the Telkom 94.7 Cycle Challenge is THE goal to conquer before end of the year!

Nic White won the 2010 edition of the race, prior to that the inaugural 1997 event!

With this in mind, White Inc. have put together 3 structured on-line training programs to give you the best chance of succeeding on the 19th November 2017. Plans are built within the new TrainingPeaks Workout Builder Framework. This means we’re taking the guesswork out of your training and making it super simple! Not only will you get a description of the workout for the day but you will be able to visually see what the workout has in store for you – all set according to a percentage of your personal FTP. These workouts can then be exported to third party apps such as Garmin, TrainerRoad, Zwift & CycleOps Virtual Training, making your training experience easy to follow and achieve.

Total cost for the 12 week program on Training Peaks Premium and FTP test: R1500

•    Think about participating in one race/event in the lead-up to 94.7
•    Performance parameters: Rate of Perceived Exertion, HR & Cadence

Intermediate

For the cyclist who is on the road regularly and would like to maximise their limited time to train towards a personal best.
•    4 – 5 x training sessions/week
•    Commit to longer rides on the weekends
•    Choose one to two races/events to participate in in the lead-up to 94.7.
•    Performance Parameters: HR, Power, Cadence

Advanced

For the seasoned cyclist wanting to race for category and achieve an all-time-best!
•    5 - 6 x training sessions/week
•    Group rides/races on the weekends
•    Performance Parameters: HR, Power, Cadence

How it works:

  1.  On signing up for a program you will be given a Premium TrainingPeaks account login.
  2.  In order to establish HR & Power Training zones, a Functional Threshold Power (FTP) Test will be scheduled (to be done at our offices or on your own equipment).
  3.  Depending on ride history & FTP level the appropriate program will be loaded to your TrainingPeaks account (which can be viewed on the web portal or in the mobile app).
  4.  TrainingPeaks acts like a personal training log from which workouts get emailed daily to the athlete, and once a workout has been recorded and completed, it can be loaded to your calendar. Various graphs and training metrics allow for analysis and interpretation of training data.
  5.  Once the program comes to an end, athletes will be given the chance to opt to keep their Premium TrainingPeaks accounts for a nominal monthly fee. If they opt out, their Premium TrainingPeaks account will revert to a Basic mode, meaning they still have access to use the account but with reduced functionality, and separate from White Inc.

It is NB to note that there will be no analysis of athlete data included in this promotion. However, White Inc can see the athlete for a consult where we can explore and interpret the data (invoiced separately).
